Columbia Residential and Renaissance Heights Foundation Announce Closing of Columbia Renaissance Square III
$31 Million Affordable Housing Community Delivers 100 Units of Senior Housing in Fort Worth, TX
Fort Worth, TX — Columbia Residential, in partnership with Renaissance Heights Foundation, is proud to announce the financial closing and start of construction of Columbia Renaissance Square III, the third and final phase of its transformative mixed-income housing initiative in southeast Fort Worth, located at 2801 North Moresby Street. This new phase will deliver 100 high-quality apartment homes, serving a broad range of income levels—from households earning below 30% of Area Median Income to 80% AMI.
As part of this third phase, 16 units will be designated as Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for families, a critical initiative made possible through Columbia Residential’s ongoing partnership with The Salvation Army. The development includes offices on-site for staff of The Salvation Army of North Texas and a full-time on site case manager to support PSH families. This partnership underscores the partners’ commitment to long-term community impact.
“Our comprehensive case management services are dedicated to helping our most vulnerable neighbors achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency,” said Major Rob Webb, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of North Texas. “We are grateful to our partners like Columbia Residential for joining our mission to combat poverty, addiction, and homelessness across the six counties that we serve in North Texas, including Tarrant County.”
Columbia Renaissance Square III completes a decade-long effort to bring inclusive, sustainable housing to the Fort Worth community. The three-phase development now includes:
- Phase I (2017): 140 apartment homes for individuals and families of any age
- Phase II (2020): 120 apartment homes for seniors
- Phase III (2026, projected): 100 additional apartment homes for individuals and families of any age
Located adjacent to Renaissance Square Apartments (Phase I), the new community will be managed to ensure seamless integration of amenities and services. Residents will benefit from the extensive resources already available at Renaissance Square, including retail and parks, priority enrollment at Uplift Mighty Preparatory, YMCA membership provided by the community, and on-site amenities such as a pool, community club room, business center, and open courtyards.
“This $31M+ milestone marks a decade of partnership, progress, and shared purpose between Renaissance Heights Foundation, Columbia Residential, Purpose Built Communities and our committed funders,” said Kenny Mosely, Jr., Executive Director, Renaissance Heights Foundation. To Columbia Residential, thank you for walking alongside us through every detail. Together, we’ve now delivered 360 quality apartments across three phases. That’s not just progress — it’s a promise fulfilled.”
Columbia Renaissance Square III reflects our continued commitment to creating resilient, inclusive communities where families of all incomes can thrive. We are excited to work with the Renaissance Heights Foundation and The Salvation Army on this transformative community,” said Carmen Chubb, Principal at Columbia Residential.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

“North Texas Community Foundation is humbled to invest in these new permanent supportive housing units to ensure residents have a place to call home as our way of carrying out the vision and legacy of our dear fundholder, Flora Brewer, said Dr. Whitnee D. Boyd, Director of Community Impact. “Flora is remembered as a fierce advocate who cared deeply for her community, and we know she would be proud of the work happening at Renaissance Heights.”
